
Smoke-Free Families is a national program supported by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation working to discover the best ways to help pregnant smokers quit, and spread the word about effective, evidence-based treatments.
Some 20 percent of low birth weight births, eight percent of pre-term deliveries, and five percent of all perinatal deaths are linked to smoking during pregnancy, making smoking the most important modifiable cause of poor pregnancy outcome. Since its founding in 1994, Smoke-Free Families has been working to find innovative, evidence based treatments for pregnant smokers. [more]

All states now have quitline services for people who use tobacco, but many do not include information that is specific for both pregnant and post-partum callers and their family members.
